Join us for an evening of jazz by the Jordan VanHemert Quartet on Saturday, December 2.
The band will feature Jordan VanHemert on saxophone, Nick Mancini on vibraphone, Edwin Garcia on bass, and Steve Pruitt on drums.
Jordan VanHemert is the new Director of Jazz Studies at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Hailed by noted jazz critic Scott Yanow as a "skilled modern improviser with a sound all his own", VanHemert's music pays homage to his Korean roots and his love for lyrical melodicism of the jazz tradition while driving forward toward the future of the art form. Modern, straight-ahead jazz.
